Service Description
Who said basics can’t be fun? These need-to-know basics build confidence for independently navigating in and around the kitchen all while incorporating what we learn into some easy and yummy recipes! We’ll cover everyday tools, utensils and their uses, basic knife skills, kitchen safety 101, staple ingredients and their uses. This week students move beyond pre-made crusts to build their own Italian-inspired feast from scratch, learning the science of handmade pizza dough and the secret to a balanced homemade sauce. To round out the meal, students work with flaky pastry dough to create a sweet treat, learning essential baking techniques like egg washes and crimping. This is a hands-on class designed to inspire creativity in the kitchen! Menu: Homemade Artisanal Pan Pizza with Toppings Bar The Best Pizza Sauce on the Planet Build Your Own Pastry Treats NOTE: This class has a three-participant minimum. Please have participants wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and tie long hair back. Cellphones aren't allowed anywhere in kitchen or at the table. There will be a designated spot for belongings/cellphones. While parents/guardians are always welcome to watch, in our experience, participants are more apt to try new things when on their own. Feel free to drop-off.

What is your cancellation policy?
Due to the fact that our cooking classes require preparation, supplies, and perishable food items that must be purchased ahead of time we do not issue returns or refunds. No exceptions. A class exchange may be made for another class up to three days before the class date. No refunds, returns, or exchanges will be given three days or less before the class date. No-shows forfeit class with no refunds, returns, or exchanges. CAMP COOK, LLC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE ALL SERVICES OFFERED. In the event a service/class is cancelled, all participants will be notified, and full refunds given.
