WHAT?

  • All our neurodiverse cooking classes/programs offer students individualized attention in a cozy home environment from owner and founder, Culinary and Life Skills coach, Mary Aragon.

  • Participants learn about ingredients and their uses, how to follow a recipe, use a full range of utensils and tools, basic cooking skills, basic knife skills, basic table setting, kitchen safety 101, small appliances, ovens, electric and gas cook tops, and much more.

WHO?

  • Neurodiverse CONNECT cooking classes are suitable for neurodiverse individuals with social, intellectual, learning, and neurodevelopmental differences Please see our prerequisites.

  • The age groups we serve are 7th -12th grade teens 13+, young adults, and adults.
    .

HOW?

  • Students learn culinary and organizational life skills essential for navigating the kitchen, for transition and future independent living.

  • Each cooking class/program has a specific theme with intentional concepts and skills.

  • Curriculum is mindfully and purposefully designed for learning in the home environment.

  • Our teaching method is based in positive terms, praise and encouragement.  We express what participants need to do rather than focusing on what not to do.

  • Our classes are purposefully small so participants receive individualized attention.

  • Every class is taught according to the needs and accommodations of the participants in each class.
