Basic Knife Skills
Neurodiverse Adults 18+ THURSDAY FUNdamentals PM
Service Description
In this class, students learn how to use the most useful tool in the kitchen: knives! We cover knife safety, function, and the basics of chop, slice, dice, and mince. We offer safety knives and adaptable utensils for those students who are just learning knife skills. This is a great class for picky eaters with an introduction to vegetables, fruits, and cheeses, along with a very basic sauce which can be used across different cuisines. There is magic that happens when students prepare food for themselves. This is a hands-on class and students make all recipes. Students have the option to try what they have cooked and the rest is packaged to-go to share with family. Recipes can be modified gluten free/dairy free - please note during registration. On the menu: Main: Vegetable Parmigiana w/ from Scratch Tomato Sauce Side/Dessert - Classic Fruit & Cheese Mini Charcuterie Board NOTE: This class meets on Thursday evening from 6:30pm-8:30pm. While parents/guardians are always welcome to watch, in our experience, participants are more apt to try new things when on their own. Feel free to drop-off.
