Service Description

Who said basics can’t be fun? This class is full of fun and basics. We will cover everyday tools, utensils and their uses, basic knife skills, kitchen safety 101, staple ingredients and their uses, sprinkle in some food storage how-to, everything you need to know to navigate the kitchen all while incorporating what we learn into some outstanding recipes! Week 1 August 13 - Knife Skills Lab We will focus on the most important tool in the kitchen - the Chef's Knife. Participants will learn the proper grip, position, common skills and cuts in order to thrive in any kitchen. This class provides lots of opportunity for practice. Menu: Roasted Vegetable Soup, Mini Fruit & Cheese Charcuterie Boards Week 2 August 20 - Kitchen & Food Safety 101 Participants will learn about kitchen best practices and food safety basics. Kitchen safety, proper handwashing, food handling, cooking and storage are essential, lifelong skills we all need to keep a safe and foodborne illness-free kitchen. Participants will build on knife skills lab, and learn a healthy French technique for cooking. Menu: Outrageous Orange Tilapia, En Papillote Green Beans & Potatoes Week 3 August 27 - Delicious, Nutritious, Ingredient Staples & Uses Learn about delicious (and healthy) products and ingredients to keep on hand to prepare a yummy meal in a jiffy. Learn how to use them with the recipes we will prepare during class. Menu: Mini Pizza Bites, Fruit Caprese Salad, Very Veggie Spaghetti NOTE: This class meets for 3-weeks on Tuesday mornings from 11am-1pm. Homeschool classes have a three-participant minimum. While parents/guardians are always welcome to watch, in our experience, participants are more apt to try new things when on their own. Feel free to drop-off.


What is your cancellation policy?

Due to the fact that our cooking classes require preparation, supplies, and perishable food items that must be purchased ahead of time we do not issue returns or refunds. No exceptions. A class exchange may be made for another class up to three days before the class date. No refunds, returns, or exchanges will be given three days or less before the class date. No-shows forfeit class with no refunds, returns, or exchanges. CAMP COOK, LLC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE ALL SERVICES OFFERED. In the event a service/class is cancelled, all participants will be notified, and full refunds given.
